1/1/2016 Took pictures for 2” tube sculpture. Titled: “Miscontubed”.

 

1/2/2016 Used spray adhesive to glue orange sand, copper glitter and copper framed blue color mesh square to “current” painting (from 12/19/15).

 

1/3/2016 Glued three miniature books onto “current” painting. Probably done.

 

1/4/2016 Signed and dated “current painting” and “Miscontubed” sculpture. Titled “Current Cue” painting. Took pictures. Rec'd E6000 adhesive from Zoro. Drilled six holes into 10” clear acrylic disk, added screws and wingnuts. Added copper glitter to 6” sections of clear 1/2” clear acrylic square and round tube with screws glued into ends. Glued other end shut. Computer updated current art titles list and started computerized “sculpture log”. Printed picture of “Current cue” painting.

 

1/5/2016 Glued ends of 1' sections of yellow, purple and orange acrylic tube (two each). Glued red tube three corner connector to 2x three corner connector structure. Applied more glue to blue tube 2x three corner connector structure. Glued one set of 1' yellow, purple and orange acrylic tubes together. Glued another three corner connector to red tube. Added clear glitter to colored 1' tube combo. Glued ends shut.

 

1/6/2016 Glued three tube glitter combo into red and yellow three corner connector completing tube square. Glued 1x12” white plastic rod into fl red three corner connector and 2.0” frosty yellow disk into other end of fl red connector. Glued two three corner connectors to blue tube three corner connector with 1/2” tube sections. Glued 12x1” wood rod into yellow cubes with glitter into connectors. This completes that tube square. Glued pink and blue acrylic ice cubes between 12” blue rod and 3/8” clear tube.

 

1/7/2016 Glued top and bottom 2” tube square into cube. Glued blue and clear acrylic structure into tube cube structure. Rec'd brass spheres and bronze screen mesh from zoro.com.

 

1/8/2016 Continued gluing three way connector joints. Glued 2” yellow acrylic disk to three corner connector with blue and clear acrylic rod and tube.

 

1/11/2016 Tied thread to copper glitter filled 6” acrylic tube, 6” green acrylic rod and yellow triangle shape.

 

1/12/2016 Added copper glitter to eight bend 6” acrylic tube and glued end shut. Removed thread from yellow triangle and made black metal mesh triangle with thread. Tied other end of thread to 10” clear acrylic disk with six screws. Also tied 6” blue acrylic rod to disk (so there are four hanging items tied to disk). Also glued 2” yellow acrylic disk to 10” disk. Also glued 1.5” mesh disk, 2” yellow disk and 3” mesh hexagon shape into 10” hollow acrylic sphere. Rec'd Vasa book from Ferris Book Depot.

 

1/13/2016 Drilled hole in 3” red acrylic disk and yellow acrylic ice cube. Tied with thread then tied to 10” acrylic disk with screws.

 

1/14/2016 Bent following pieces of acrylic before it started to rain: 1 bent 12x12” fl orange sheet; 2 bent 12x12” blue sheet; one bent 6” blue disk; two bent 6” clear disk; one bent 5” orange disk; one bent 4” red square; squashed with three wrinkles 80mm hollow sphere; three bent two foot section of 1/2” blue tube; five bent 2' section of yellow tube; three bent 2' section of blue tube; six bent 3' section of clear 3/8” tube and tried to bend 12” section of 2” tube but it just bubbled and deformed. Glued two bent 12x12” blue acrylic sheet to 2” tube cube structure. 1/22/2016 Glued pink and purple felt hexagons, orange felt shape,10” clear disk with attachments & two 1.5” acrylic disks to 2” tube cube sculpture. I think sculpture is done. Glued acrylic sphere to cube too. Glued two bent 2” yellow acrylic tube, about 17” long to 12x12” 1/2” black metal mesh base. Glued 4 bent 12x12” fl orange acrylic sheet to 2” yellow tube. Glued one bent 4x4” opaque white acrylic sheet to orange sheet and two 1.5” colored acrylic disks to yellow tube. Also glued silver mesh bead under yellow tube. This is a new sculpture.

1/25/2016 Glued three bent blue and green 24” acrylic 1/2” tube to four bent 12x12” fl orange structure.

 

1/26/2016 Glued 6 bent 3/8” clear acrylic tube and 1.5” blue and green acrylic disks to 12x12” 4 bent fl orange sculpture. Took pictures of 2” tube cube sculpture tentatively titled: “Cognitive pretension”. Rec'd “Van Gogh A Power Seething” by J. Bell from Bargain Books.

2/10/2016 Drilled two holes in black acrylic rod on 12x12” fl orange sculpture and 1.5” dark green acrylic disk. Tied acrylic disk and 6” -1/2” square acrylic tube filled with copper glitter to same sculpture. Also glued 1.5” clear and yellow acrylic disks to sculpture. Glued copper mesh disk structure (6”) to sculpture too.

2/12/2016 Glued 1.25, 1.0 and 0.75” clear acrylic spheres and bumpy red bead onto 12x12” fl orange acrylic sheet sculpture. Probably done. Tentative title: “Corsucating persiflage”. Took pictures. Rec'd: “Frank Stella: A Retrospective” from Fulfillment Center. Glued 4x4” blue, yellow, green & clear acrylic squares into 8x8” square using 1.5” wood squares connectors, starting new sculpture.

2/14/2016 One bent 4x3” clear, blue, green, yellow and opaque white acrylic sheets. Two bent 4x4” acrylic orange and blue sheets. Five bent and broke 24” purple 1/2” acrylic tube and six bent 36” clear 3/8” acrylic tube. Glued together 1 bent yellow, blue and opaque white 4x4” sheets. Glued six 1.5” wooden squares together to form cube.

 

2/15/2016 Glued 4x4”yellow, blue and opaque white bent acrylic sheet structure, broken 1/2” purple acrylic tube and two bent 4x4” red acrylic sheet to red, orange, white and clear four piece 4x4” acrylic sheet structure. Plugged and glued one end of four bent 1/2” purple acrylic tube.

 

2/16/2016 Added clear glitter to 5 bend 1/2” purple acrylic tube and glued shut then glued to four color square base. Glued 4x4” yellow, clear, blue and green squares to structure and glued 1.5” green acrylic disk to structure too.

 

2/17/2016 Glued 1 bend 4x4” red acrylic square, 2 bend 4x4” clear acrylic square and 1 bend 5” orange acrylic disk together with square and round wooden shapes.

2/20/2016 Added red sand to 7 bent 6” acrylic tube. Glued 1.25” wooden disk to top and orange & purple felt shapes to core. Added more black glitter to 7 bent tube, then added purple sand and glued tube shut.

2/24/2016 Added more copper glitter to clear acrylic box then glued shut and glued blue 1.5” acrylic disk over opening. Glued six 1.25” wooden disks to another acrylic box then added black and copper glitter.

 

2/25/2016 Added red sand to copper and black glitter acrylic box then glued shut. Glued orange felt shape to opening. Tied copper glitter filled acrylic tube to 4 panel x 3 acrylic sculpture with thread. Used six pastels to color wooden disks on second clear acrylic box (Filled with black and copper glitter and red sand). Tied to 4 panelx3 acrylic sculpture. Glued nine 3/4” wooden disks to 80mm clear hollow acrylic sphere.

 

2/26/2016 Used pastels to color in wooden shapes on 4 panel x 3 acrylic sculpture. Glued eight more 3/4” wooden disks to clear hollow 80mm acrylic sphere.

 

2/27/2016 Glued 4x4” blue, green, yellow & orange acrylic squares with wooden squares and circles.

 

2/28/2016 Glued four pen wood blocks (8x3/4”) to 2/27 4 panel acrylic sheet then glued that to 4 panel x 3 sculpture.

3/2/2016 Glued sixteen 3/4” wooden disks to other half of 80mm clear acrylic sphere.

 

3/3/2016 Glued nine 3/4” wooden disks to 3/2/16 acrylic sphere half. Glued fifteen 1” wooden disks to 2 bent 6” acrylic clear disk (for 6 bent blue acrylic sculpture). Cut 1.25” green acrylic rod (48”) in half (for rod cube sculpture). Problems: mini vice would not grip the rod for long when supported on top of air conditioning unit outside. Could not get good angle to cut rod using mini vice on unit. Seemed to work better with mini vice set on cement and rod angled in vice and supported on cement. Need to rotate rod four times for best cut.

 

3/4/2016 Glued three more wooden circles to clear acrylic sphere. Finished cutting 1.25” green acrylic rod into 8” sections (in rain, outside). Ordered colored PVC pipe and 3 way connectors from Formufit, online.

 

3/5/2016 Used green, yellow, blue, black and red pastels to color wooden disks on 80mm clear acrylic sphere.

 

3/6/2016 Used pastels to color wooden disks on 2 bent 6” clear acrylic disk.

 

3/8/2016 6 bent seven sided blue acrylic sheet (about 14x17”). Cut 18” from 50' roll of bronze wire mesh.

 

3/9/2016 Drilled six 1/2” holes in 6 bent blue acrylic shape.

 

3/10/2016 Sanded six holes drilled on 3/9 so 1/2” tubing/rod would fit through them.

3/13/2016 Cut 48”- 1/2” green and white acrylic rod into 8” sections, three bent 24” orange (1/2”) acrylic tube and four bent 48” (!/2”) black acrylic rod. Positioned bent tube and rod onto 6 bent blue acrylic shape. Ordered colored 3 way connectors from Formufit, online.

 

3/15/2016 Crumpled blue felt piece into 80mm clear acrylic sphere & glued shut then glued to 6 bent blue acrylic sculpture on three bent orange acrylic tube. Glued three bent 6” clear acrylic disk with wooden disks to four bent 36” black acrylic rod attached to blue shape. Also glued small wooden disks to same shape. Still don't know where this sculpture is going – maybe I'm rushing it.

 

3/16/2016 Crumpled copper wire mesh and orange felt sheet into 140mm clear acrylic sphere. Inserted 1.5” clear acrylic box with crumpled yellow felt into sphere. Placed sphere onto 6 bent blue acrylic sculpture. Tentatively titled 4 panel sculpture (from 3/1) “Larboard rectitude”. Changed orange felt to black felt.

 

3/17/2016 Rec'd 1.25 PVC 3 way connectors from Formufit. Too big for 1.25” acrylic rods. Glued small wooden disks and squares on 6 bent blue acrylic sculpture. Glued two exotic wood pen blanks to base. Added red lumpy bead to acrylic box inside acrylic sphere. Added blue lumpy bead and two red metal mesh beads to sphere. Cut 120mm brown and orange felt rings (made 3” felt disks) and put orange ring inside acrylic sphere and brown ring glued to outside of sphere. Glued sphere shut then glued sphere to 6 bent blue acrylic sculpture. Glued 3” orange and brown felt circles to sculpture too.

 

3/18/2016 Glued orange and blue 4x4” acrylic squares to bottoms of exotic wood pen blanks on 6 bend acrylic blue shape. Cut colored orgami paper to cover 3” styrofoam cube then glued paper to cube.

 

3/19/2016 Rec'd correct 1.0” 3 way connectors from Formufit. Ordered 50 random colored 2” acrylic disks from Ziazr.com, online. Ordered eight colors of 4” acrylic disks from Delvie's Plastics, online. Cut three 8” sections from 1.25” white acrylic rod. Cut Al metal mesh into 2x6x6” sections and fitted onto 6 bend blue acrylic sculpture.

 

3/20/2016 Glued 4x4” purple orgami fabric section to 6 bend blue acrylic sculpture.

 

3/21/2016 Glued 4x4” orgami mesh fabric cube and three frosted 2” acrylic disks to 6 bend blue acrylic sculpture. Cut cube with scissors and inserted 2” yellow disk into cut. On a different sculpture, glued three green and three white 1.25” acrylic 8” rod sections into 3 way connectors.

 

3/22/2016 Signed and titled “Larboard rectitude” sculpture. Glued 1” clear acrylic sphere to copper fitting. Inserted silicone rubber cord into three 3way connectors then glued three 8” sections of 1.25” green acrylic rod into connectors. Glued 2” red acrylic disk to 6 bent blue acrylic sculpture. Cut three 8” sections from 1.25” white acrylic rod and glued into 3 way connectors.

 

3/23/2016 Glued remaining green and white acrylic rods into 3 way connectors completing acrylic cube. Rec'd 2” acrylic disks (100) from Zlazr.com. Glued three miniature books, 2” yellow acrylic disk and copper fixture with 1” acrylic sphere to 6 bent blue acrylic sculpture.

 

3/24/2016 Drilled small hole in 3” red acrylic disk and 4” red acrylic square. Ordered 4” circle templates from Ebay in white and green acrylic. Glued two green and two milk 4x4” acrylic squares to two 3/4” yellow acrylic cubes (for green and white acrylic rod cube). Tied red disk and square to 6 bent blue acrylic sculpture with thread.

So the disks have mesh on both sides on a single side of the cube. Revised sculpture title: “6 bent blue proxy” sculpture.

 

4/21/2016 Titled and signed/dated: “6 bent blue proxy” sculpture. Glued three white acrylic concentric circles and bent 4x4” green acrylic square to next side of green and white acrylic rod cube, then glued on 9x9” black metal mesh cover. Repaired “August harmony” sculpture after breaking off 6x6” copper mesh square.

 

4/22/2016 Glued 4” green & 2” green and white acrylic disks and 8” white 1/2” acrylic rod to next side of green and white acrylic rod cube, then glued on 9x9” black metal mesh cover.

 

4/23/2016 Glued 3” green ring, 2” green disk & 4” white disk (all acrylic) to next side of 9x9” green and white acrylic rod cube then glued on 9x9” black mesh cover.

4/25/2016 Glued 4 stack and 4” green ring template inside green and white acrylic rod cube. Glued final 9x9” black metal mesh sheet to open side. Glued 4” white ring template, 2” green ring and 1” green disk (all acrylic) to mesh then covered and glued 9x9” black metal mesh over items. Green and white acrylic rod cube is not covered in black metal mesh on all six sides.

4/27/2016 Glued 2” red and orange acrylic disks to 9” acrylic rod cube. Rod cube sculpture is probably done. Took pictures. Still need title, but tentatively: “Caged Cube”. Cut two 7x10” sections from bronze metal mesh roll. Glued into 9x12” white, pre-cut mat frames, two frames/ bronze section.

 

4/28/2016 Cut two more rectangles from bronze metal mesh roll and glued between pre-cut 9x12” white mat frames.

 

4/29/2016 Cut two more rectangles from bronze metal mesh roll and two shapes from pink mesh fabric roll. Glued between two pre-cut 9x12” white mat frames. Started another sculpture gluing three copper fittings to 12x12” yellow acrylic sheet.

 

5/2/2016 Added orange felt shape and colored acrylic ice crystals to one 70mm clear acrylic sphere, added green and black glitter to a second 70mm clear acrylic sphere, added green and black glitter to 1.5” clear acrylic box. Glued all shut.

 

5/3/2016 Re-tied glitter tube on “Larboard rectitude” sculpture. Added more green glitter to acrylic box then glued 1.5” black acrylic disk over opening. Used up another tube of E3000 cement. 12/19/2016 Glued copper glitter to one 3” styrofoam sphere, didn't work very well. Apparently, you can use acrylic or latex paint as a glue for glitter.

 

12/21/2016 Inserted 24” Al square tube into 5” styrofoam cube. Heated center punched and cornered 12x12” green acrylic square to fit over rod. Used yellow texture gel to secure hole around Al tube.

 

12/22/2016 Glued Al tube with green acrylic square to 5x5” styrofoam cube. Cut and glued 5x5” checkerboard fabric, orange acrylic square, cut tic weave fabric and cut tan felt to styrofoam cube. Glued one bent 4” yellow acrylic disk and one bent 4” acrylic square to 12x12” holed green acrylic square. Ordered 10” yellow and white acrylic disks from eBay online. Ordered Jo Sonya Potting Shed Acrylic paints from D Blick, online. Glued second 5x5” surfaced styrofoam cube (from 11/28) to second 12x12” green acrylic cornered square. Working title for sculpture is linear sculpture.

 

12/23/2016 Glued 3” and 4.5” white pvc 1.5” tube sections to linear sculpture. Also glued checkerboard cutouts to sculpture.

12/24/16 Glued 4x4” red acrylic square and 3/4” wooden cube to linear d sculpture. Glued another bent corner 12x12” green acrylic square with attachments (from 11/27) to sculpture.

 

12/25/16 Glued forth bent corner 12x12” green acrylic square to linear d sculpture.

 

12/26/16 Re-glued linear d sculpture after breaking it. Added three 4” colored acrylic disks for reinforcement.

 

12/28/16 Rec'd 10” yellow and white acrylic disks from eBay. Glued five 3/4” clear acrylic cubes 10 10” white acrylic disk and 12x12” green acrylic square.

 

12/29/16 Glued linear d sculpture to12/28 base. Re-glued top.

 

12/30/16 Linear d sculpture keeps breaking. Probably because it is unbalanced. Re-glued. It needs to be unbalanced.
